Why Health Management?  Why HealthMatters?

Health Management

LMC, a successful Employee Benefit, Property/Casualty, & Agri-Business agency, is taking the definition of value-added service to a new level with the addition of its new Health Management Services Department. Many of our clients are struggling with the ever-increasing costs of providing health insurance as a part of their employee benefit package - currently, most employers pay 60% - 80% of these insurance premiums, which is viewed as their number one business concern.

Past cost containment tactics have included:

  • Changing medical plan deductibles
  • Changing out-of-pocket maximus
  • Changing employee contributions
  • Changing medical insurance carriers

Today, employers are turning to wellness programs, and hoping for results.

The traditional definition of wellness programs has been:

An organized program, benefit, and/or activities that are intended to assist employees in making voluntary behavior changes which will 'hopefully' reduce their health risks and enhance productivity.

Today's definition has transitioned into a field called Health Management Services, which is defined as a multi-component strategy of various health-related resources, programs, and other tools...tailored to accomplish the goals of an employer, for its entire employee population and associated family members.

But how does the employer do this?

That is where LMC's HealthMatters comes into play...we will help the employer answer all those questions by reviewing current wellness steps taken and analyzing where the employers wants to go by developing a program that is customized to their employees' needs; we'll evaluate the success of the program, and, we'll help keep things 'fresh,' to be sustained for the long term. No other agency in central Iowa is providing this level of service.
